GRANITE BY APPLICATION

How do you select granite for paving, kerbs, cladding, stairs or custom work?

Direct answer: Classify granite by use location first, then confirm stone, thickness, finish, edges and holes, colour standard and packing. Exterior paving and kerbs prioritise loading, slip and drainage; cladding prioritises the fixing system and anchor details; interiors and stairs prioritise finished face and profiles; custom work prioritises drawings, models, templates and trial assembly.

Application categories do not replace project engineering

This guide helps buyers organise an enquiry; it does not mean a stone, thickness or finish automatically satisfies loading, slip, façade or installation requirements. Technical performance, fixing systems, installation details and applicable standards remain subject to the project designer and relevant specialists. The factory reviews fabrication and supply against final drawings, samples and the written order.

APPLICATION FAQ

Questions about selecting granite by application

Should a paving buyer choose colour or technical requirements first?

Confirm use conditions, loading, thickness, slip requirement, drainage and acceptance criteria first. Then approve colour and samples among stone options that can meet the project specification.

Can one granite be used for several applications?

It may be a candidate, but paving, cladding, stairs and custom components need different thicknesses, finishes, edges, holes and acceptance criteria. Review each drawing separately.

What is required for a wall-cladding quotation?

Provide at least a panel schedule or drawings, dimensions, thickness, quantity, finish, slot or anchor-hole requirements, colour standard, packing and destination. The project designer specifies the fixing system.

Why does a stair quotation need a profile drawing?

A profile clarifies tread thickness, riser, chamfer, edge finish, anti-slip grooves and joint arrangement, reducing fabrication ambiguity.

How can custom-stone rework be reduced?

Approve complete drawings, models, critical templates and a representative fabrication sample before volume production, with written dimensions, segmentation, finish and trial-assembly requirements.
